South Seminole Academy of Career Exploration

South Seminole Academy (SSA) is expanding opportunities for our students! In 2024, we received a $5.8 million grant (one of the largest ever received for a single school) which will empower learners to develop their leadership skills through career-themed programs. We have used this grant to reimagine and enhance the magnet program at SSA, transforming it into an innovative career-exploration Academy. With these funds, South Seminole Academy had created a unique curriculum to support students as they explore potential career pathways using a system of three “houses.” The theme for each house is driven by a Career and Technology Education (CTE) pathway that directly connects with CTE programs at our high schools providing a seamless transition after 8th grade. Students will have opportunities to participate in houses based on their interests and exploration goals.

 South Seminole Academy has been named a National Merit School of Excellence by Magnet Schools of America, the national association for magnet and theme-based schools. We have been selected for our high academic standards and curriculum innovation. As a magnet school, our students benefit from specialized teachers and an innovative curriculum based around a unifying theme.
