Global Leadership Students Participate in Global Youth Service Day

Saturday, April 21 SSMS students participated in Global Youth Service Day. Thanks to Bill Hufford from Friends of the Park and Casselberry's Rotary Club who donated trees which were planted around our own Moss Pond. Ms. Orozco’s Global Leadership students and Mr. Testa brought out the shovels and did all the planting, mulching and watering.

SSMS' Dividend &
SCPS' DIVIDEND OF THE YEAR!!!

Congratulations to Peter Testa Jr., SCPS, Dividend of the Year. Peter was recognized at a luncheon along with Lisa Chambers and Pat Balsamo for the most hours dedicated to South Seminole Middle School. Peter was then recognized as the Seminole County Public Schools Youth Dividend of the Year for 2011-12. Peter has been a vital part of our ROTC program this year. The three years experience in the Lake Howell ROTC program, and one year at SSMS as the Sergeant Major serving under Captain Tysall has given Peter inspiration for his career. Peter has enlisted in the United States Army and will leave us to attend Boot Camp in September 2012. Thank you to Peter for 566 hours of time and energy at SSMS. We appreciate your time and energy.
